Senior Game Designer
We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Game Designer to define and champion the player experience of our debut game, Kyoryu.
As a key hire in our game team, you’ll help build the foundation of the game and we’ll rely on your amazing skills to make Kyoryu truly special.
Your day to day at Floating Rock
- Collaborate closely with other vision holders to define the game’s core mechanics and moment-to-moment player experience
- Block-out levels and rapidly prototype gameplay in Unreal engine to prove out design concepts
- Participate in cross discipline brainstorms and discussions. Offer innovative solutions and bring your unique point of view to the team
- Create clear and comprehensive design documents
- Be hands on and push the project forward every day
Must haves
- 5+ years in game design roles with at least one shipped Unreal Engine title
- Proficient in Unreal Engine and common game design tools (Blueprints, Python, greyboxing tools) for rapid iteration.
- At least 1 shipped title on console (PS5, Xbox, Switch)
Nice to have
- Interest in Dinosaurs and Japanese culture
- Passion for storytelling and cinematography
- Background in VFX or animation production; familiarity with Maya, Houdini, or other DCC tools.
- Experience with narrative design, or procedural content generation.
- Strong iterative mindset; comfort with rapid prototyping and playtesting-driven development.

HR & Recruitment Coordinator
We’re looking for a proactive HR & Recruitment Coordinator to join our People & Culture team. This is a hybrid role supporting both recruitment and day-to-day HR operations. You’ll help us attract top global talent, support our artists and crew, and ensure that Floating Rock continues to be a place where people feel valued, supported, and inspired.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment: drafting job ads, scheduling interviews, supporting candidate communications, and maintaining recruitment trackers.
- Partner with Producers and Department Leads to understand hiring needs and assist with talent sourcing.
- Manage and help refine onboarding processes, including contracts, induction sessions, and first-day coordination.
- Support day-to-day HR administration, including maintaining employee records, contract updates, leave tracking, and exit processes.
- Assist with wellbeing, engagement, and studio culture initiatives — from training to social events.
- Act as a point of contact for staff HR/recruitment queries, escalating where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years’ experience in HR, recruitment, or coordination (experience in VFX, animation, or creative industries is a plus).
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with people at all levels.
- Familiarity with HR/recruitment systems and tools.
- A team player with a genuine passion for supporting people and building culture.

Senior Gameplay Programmer | Games
We’re looking for a highly skilled and pragmatic Senior Gameplay Programmer to lead technical development on our debut game project. This role will help architect and implement core game systems, oversee engineering practices, and act as a technical partner to design, art, and production teams.
As a key hire in our game team, you’ll help build the foundation of the game and we’ll rely on your amazing skills to make Kyoryu truly special.
This is an opportunity to help define the identity and workflows of our debut title from the ground up.
Your day to day at Floating Rock
- Lead technical development and own responsibility for scoping, creating, and supporting core gameplay systems
- Work closely with Design and Art/Animation to build, iterate, and refine working standalone prototypes into full gameplay
- Refactor one-off prototypes into functional systems we can use throughout the game
- Hands on in creating systems; 3 C's implementation (Character, Camera, Controls), traversal systems, puzzle mechanics, AI-driven NPC's, and more.
- Future proof the project by anticipating and eliminating issues for the console porting process
- Participate in brainstorms and discussions
Must haves
- 5+ years in game engineering roles with at least one shipped Unreal Engine title on console
- Strong C++ programming skills; fluency with Blueprints and Unreal-specific systems
- Console experience and deep knowledge of unique requirements of porting to console
- Version control proficiency (e.g., Git, Perforce) and understanding of build automation tools
- Strong experience with optimization
